The biker’s guide to surviving Valentine’s day

Don’t read another article about “what men secretly want for Valentine’s day”. If your other half is a biker, he or she wants bike stuff.

Valentine’s day can easily be another day of misery, if you’re single, or a day of anxiety and disappointment, if you’re attached. Luckily, you love bikes, and that can turn dreadful Valentine’s day into dreamy ValenBikes day – especially if you use these tips.

Suck it up, buttercup: You have to get your lady something, so make it something you can both enjoy.

Before we get to the delectable ValenBikes offers we have assembled for you, this is how two well-known South African woman bikers describe their ideal Valentine’s day. (You can skip this part if you’re single.)

Off-road adventurer, Jo Rust, and circuit sage, Wilmarie Janse van Rensburg, gave us insight into what women want for ValenBike’s day, since most men need guidance to be romantic.

“I would love if my man could plan a scenic ride (not too far) that is a bit of a treasure hunt situation,” says Wilmarie. Her love of fine food also needs to be satisfied on her hunt, she would fancy a few stops at “little gem restaurants” and a delectable dessert, preferably “something I’ve never tasted before,” she says.

Ever the adventurist, Jo would prefer the adventure of the unknown, “when you get to a junction, you flip a coin to see which way you’ll go. Keep doing that until you find a little town where you can book into a cosy guesthouse”.

Yes, women love experiences, but everyone likes a gift of something they’ve coveted. Whether you’re single or chained, a guy or a girl, there’s a ValenBikes special for you, your lover or your bike:
