Safety recall on Triumph Explorer and Trophy

According to Triumph Motorcycles South Africa it has become necessary to issue a safety recall on a limited number of Tiger Explorer, Tiger Explorer XC and Trophy model motorcycles, which require the replacement of the ECU.

Failure to undertake this work may in rare cases lead to unnecessary activation of the safety shutdown strategy causing the fueling and ignition to shut down and the motorcycle to lose power, resulting in loss of driving force and momentum.

Triumph SA is asking for customer’s co-operation to ensure that their motorcycles are modified without delay. This will require replacement of the ECU. Triumph SA urge all Triumph Explorer and Trophy owners to contact their local Triumph dealer immediately to arrange an early appointment with the service department. The modification will be free of charge.
